Substitutes
NEW SUBSTITUTE PROCESS
Applicants will have to turn in the following to the Franklin County Board of Education.
- Franklin County Schools Support Application
- 3 Required Trainings
- Copy of Alabama Driver’s License
- Copy of Social Security Card
- Completed Tax Forms (I9, W4, A4)
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Voided Check and Signed Bank Authorization Form

After the above documents are submitted to the Franklin County Board of Education, the applicant will be responsible for the following to be done online.
- CREATE AN AIM ACCOUNT https://aim.alsde.edu/index.aspx?Logout=true
Once the AIM account is created please email brianadean@franklin.k12.al.us with your ALSDE ID Number
- SELECT SUBSTITUTE APPLICATION
- FILL OUT ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION
- PAY FOR SUBSTITUTE LICENSE
- SET APPOINTMENT AND PAY FOR BACKGROUND CHECK
After everything is completed you will be able to log in and check your application status in your AIM account, please make sure to keep your log in information. Keep in mind that it can take up to 6 weeks for your substitute license to be issued, once it is, you will receive an email about your next step in the process.
