I am from Tharptown, AL where I graduated in 2014. I have been teaching at Tharptown High School for three years, where I serve as the self-contained special education teacher. I am entering my 3rd season as the Head Volleyball Coach, and my 2nd season as the Head Softball Coach. After graduating high school, I attended Wallace State Community College on a basketball scholarship. I graduated from Athens State University with a bachelors in Collaborative Special Education in 2018, and from The University of West Alabama with my masters in Special Education in 2020. I love Tharptown and am happy to call it "home". I am married to my husband, Hayden, who is also a THS graduate. We have one daughter, Kallie.
Kaitlyn Vandiver Assistant Coach
I am from Tharptown, Alabama, where I graduated in 2016. Throughout high school, I played softball, volleyball, basketball, competed for the track team, and participated in scholars bowl. I went on to Northwest-Shoals Community College and received my Associate Degree in 2018. From there, I transferred to the University of North Alabama where I received my Bachelor in Education with a concentration in Social Science in 2021. I began my teaching career at my alma mater, THS, during the 2021-2022 school year. I am an assistant coach for volleyball, basketball, and softball. I also am the sponsor for the THS High School Scholars Bowl Team.
