Yearbook Class
-
Yearbook class is a great experience for students at Vina High School. Staff members gain experience working with our community business by selling and creating advertisements. They learn valuable design skills using an award winning computer yearbook design program. They also gain experience taking photos and organizing and working picture days. They build important life and career skills by planning and executing the creation of a wonderful book of memories for Vina students and their families to enjoy for years to come. Juniors and sophomores interested in being a part of the yearbook staff in their junior and senior years should apply the first week of May. See Mrs. Swinney for an application.

Why is a yearbook important?
The yearbook chronicles what's most relevant to our students and allows them to physically have something to touch when visiting the books in the years to come. Our goal is to not exclude any student from our pages. If you have photos or information that you would like to submit to the yearbook, please email them to Patti Swinney, yearbook advisor (pattiswinney@franklin.k12.al.us).
Senior Information
Senior year is busy and full of exciting days. Don't forget that there are important events for which to plan.
Senior Photos
These take place at the beginning of the school year in August (check the school calendar for exact dates). These photos include a formal (tuxedos for the boys, drapes for the girls), an informal (wear dressy-casual), and an environmental (may have another wardrobe change). Environmentals may be made with a student's vehicle. The photographers supply the tuxedos and drapes. Girls should wear a white tank top to go under their drapes. Bill Miller Photography, who is contracted to take our photos, charges a sitting fee that can be waived. If the fee is waived, seniors will not have the option to purchase the photos. All seniors must have their photos taken with Bill Miller for school information purposes. Seniors are allowed to have their photos made with an alternative photographer if desired, and can submit those photos for yearbook use. Note: all senior formals and environmentals NOT made by Bill Miller Photograhy should be submitted by October 31st. All submitted photos should be in a digital format. These need to be large files.
Baby Photos
Please submit a baby photo by October 31st. Choose one in which you are fully clothed.
Senior Ads
Senior ads are a great way for families to send a loving message to their graduating senior. Select some cherished photos, choose a layout, and add your personal message. Senior ad payment is September 30th. All photos and messages are due by October 31st.
Senior ad prices are as follows:
- Spread: $200
- Full page: $120
- Half page: $75
Senior Photoshoot
Seniors usually take a field trip to do a photoshoot at Spring Park and UNA in October or November (check the school calendar for exact dates). The field trip venue may change. All students are encouraged to attend this event because there are no makeup days for it. If they miss the trip, they will be left out of some amazing class photos.
Cap and Gown Photos
Cap and gown photos are usually made in March (check the school calendar for exact dates). The photograhy company supplies the cap and gowns. There is no re-take day for these photos.
