Degrees and Certifications:
Linda K. Massey
I am a Mexican-American from Brownsville, Texas where I grew up as an English Learner. I graduated from the University of North Alabama in 2014 and this is my 8th year at THS. I enjoyed teaching Spanish I and II for several years, but now I am focused on teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). I feel God has blessed me with the ability to be bilingual and has placed me at THS to help the families of our school community. When school is not in session, I love going on mission trips to the Mexican border and Honduras. I also love collecting seashells and cooking.
I am 26 years old. I work at Tharptown High School as an EL Aide with Mrs. Massey, and I also work at Tharptown Elementary School at their afterschool program called 21st CCLC. I also translate for both campuses and enjoy helping people! I graduated THS in 2014, and went to college and was in the Registered Nursing program, and now I am going back and getting my ESL teaching degree. I love working for Tharptown and enjoy building bonds and connections with both staff and students. My goals are to help each and every one of our students be the best that they can be, and help them become a role model for younger generations! I am blessed to be back at my home away from home, and I am excited to see what the future will bring for Tharptown!
