Alabama Virtual Library
Alabama Virtual Library provides all students, teachers, and citizens of the State of Alabama with online access to essential library and information resources. It is primarily a group of online databases that have magazine, journal, and newspaper articles for research. Students may receive user accounts and passwords from their Media Specialist at each school.

HippoCampus offers multimedia lessons and course materials to help you with your instruction, homework, and studies.  You can browse multimedia lessons or complete courses and find help with the topic covered in popular textbooks. 

HippoCampus is a project of the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education (MITE). The goal of HippoCampus is to provide high-quality, multimedia content on general education subjects to high school and college students free of charge.

Stop Bullying in Alabama

Every year, countless Alabama students endure painful encounters with peers, in person, as well as through the Internet. The Stop Bullying in Alabama web site provides anti-bullying resources for students, parents, teachers, and school administrators to help fight this pervasive problem. The Anti Bullying website is sponsored by the Alabama Department of Education.

Study Island

Available for students in grades 3-8.  Students receive passwords from individual schools. Study Island is completely Web-based. Students can access Study Island and learn at their own pace. There is no software to download or install; all you need is an Internet connection.

Students can access the program by simply logging on to, where they will find each topic organized with a lesson, assessment questions, and explanations. The mastery of these topics will help students gain confidence when taking the Alabama Reading & Mathematics Test (ARMT) and Alabama Science Assessment (ASA).
